Delegates must complete
all necessary immigration procedures to enter the People’s Republic of China.
All foreign citizens
entering China must hold a valid passport or other valid international travel
document. In general, the passport should be valid for at least six months and
have blank visa pages; otherwise, there may be a risk of visa refusal or refusal
of entry.
Delegates who require a
visa to enter China must apply in advance through the Chinese Embassy or
Consulate in their country of origin or residence, or through the Chinese Visa
Application Service Center where applicable. Ordinary passport holders are generally
required to complete the visa application form online and submit the required
supporting documents.
China has certain
visa-free entry and visa-free transit policies for eligible foreign nationals.
Eligibility depends on nationality, passport type, purpose of visit, port of
entry, length of stay, and travel route. Delegates should check whether they
qualify for visa-free entry before travelling.
China also has limited
port visa arrangements for urgent cases, such as urgent business activities or
humanitarian reasons. However, these are not a substitute for normal visa
application procedures, and delegates attending a conference should not rely on
obtaining a visa on arrival unless they have confirmed eligibility in advance
with the relevant Chinese authorities.
